Wireless Technology in Our Midst

  • Willard Elementary School Powder Mill Road Concord MA (map)

Public Forum on Sunday, January 12th, 2-5pm at Willard School on “Wireless Technology in Our Midst,”: a unique opportunity to address some of the questions that have arisen around wireless technology in our community.

·      How do we decide whether to move toward hardwired connections, rather than wireless, in our new CMS building and the new Children’s Room addition at the Main Public Library?

·      Will the Select Board adopt a 5G Policy, as Burlington, Bedford and Lincoln have done, to assert the full scope of its authority over 5G locations? (Legally, a 5G Policy can only be adopted by the SB prior to the first 5G application -– hence, the time-sensitivity.)

·      Will the CMLP be able to deploy wired meters connected to the town’s fiber optic system (now installed in 95% of Concord’s streets) rather than wireless meters, to reduce and manage energy use?

·      How do we decide where the next 4G cell antennas will be located?
